Giving back to the communities in which we live and work
Committing to our hometown
We’ve continued building on our Protecting Good initiative by giving back to the neighborhoods surrounding Protective Stadium. In 2022, we continued the work with key partners to replace roofs on more than 60 homes and plan to update 100 more in 2023, enabling residents to apply for insurance to protect their homes and families.
Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp
We worked with the Mark Cuban Foundation again in 2022 to offer the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamp to underserved high school students in the Birmingham area. The bootcamp introduced students to AI concepts, tech mentors and even college scholarships through a week-long program.
Investing in future generations
Bettering our communities starts with supporting the next generation. We adopted Phillips Academy in downtown Birmingham to provide reading and math tutoring for children from kindergarten through fifth grade, and partnered with Birmingham Talks, a literacy program for babies through three years old.
Ahead of The World Games, we welcomed local high school students to Protective Stadium to hear from local leaders, participate in workshops and tour the stadium. This inaugural Leadership Academy offered students the opportunity to learn about the event while receiving valuable insights on their journey to becoming the next generation of leaders.
